Summer

June 13, 2009

I just wanted to say I love summer, lazy, long, delicious summer. I’m enjoying every minute of this one. I know, it’s not even summer yet!

At this particular moment, I’m the only one in our gorgeous beachy Bay St. Louis house for at least another 24 hours if I so wish. Today in my swimsuit and a sun dress, I rode my dad’s rusty bike (with milk crate tied to the back) to return a Faulkner compendium to the library trailer and request on inter-library loan “Alone in the Kitchen with an Eggplant.” Read the rest of this entry »

Vodka, the true essence of life

April 29, 2008

So, who knew vodka had so many uses, such as relieving fevers, eradicating swimmer’s ear or helping jellyfish sting? See also: shower cleaner. And, if you think about it, some cleaners are right around $10 a bottle. If vodka works better, you could get a cheap $6 bottle, dilute a bit and go at it!

Speaking of swimmer’s ear – went horseback riding yesterday, which reminds me of Girl Scout camp. It was much fun. We rode 10-11 miles? My butt hurts since I had to go in tennis shoes and I couldn’t stand up like a real cowgirl. But, of course, work never ends. It was horseback riding with a purpose: journalism. I’m such a journo-tourist.

Speaking of summer camp – I’m done with three classes (Poetry, Fiction and Racquetball), so I have one test, one paper, two written exams and one story due until … SUMMER! I really like thinking about Knoxville, a Texas road trip in August and … Angers!

I might just bake a pie this weekend.
